Notes

Former Bruce Mansfield Coal Plant. Will use a new natural gas power plant that has stated it will employ more than 300 people. Land is owned by Frontier Group of Companies. Nvidia, Microsoft, BlackRock, and xAI are part of a consortium of investors own Aligned Data Centers. Plans include three data centers, each larger than 600,000 square feet, as well as a warehouse, natural gas power generation pad, stormwater management facilities and 250 parking spots. Meta signed deal to purchase power from the Beaver Valley Nuclear Plant nearby. The council of the Borough of Shippingport held a public hearing in late February 2026 and approved a conditional use permit request from Aligned. Project fast tracked as part of PA's Permit Fast Track Program https://www.pa.gov/agencies/oto/fasttrack. Size of the site varies in reports from 477 acres - 660 acres but the PA Permit Fast Track Program website reports it being 543.76 acres.
